I sang before I spoke, and got my first Karaoke machine from Santa when I was eight years old. A Christmas to remember where everyone wanted a shot on the system … but apparently I wasn’t very willing to share…but after twelve repeat renditions of ‘The Greatest Love of all’ ….I have been singing ever since. My Mum enrolled me into a local Drama group that same year and a few months later I was playing my first big role as Blousy in Bugsy Malone at the Winter Gardens Theatre in the sunshine coast that is Blackpool. I remember the photographer kept referring to me as the character of Tallulah just because I had this great big feather bower…”IT’S BLOUSEY…I’M PLAYING THE ROLE OF BLOUSEY”…..Amusing! My whole family came to see the performance and from that moment on I was definitely bitten by the bug……wanting to perform more and more! Often when appearing as Master of Ceremony I prefer to take on the role of host for the event. This concept works really well as the guests believe they have been uniquely selected and invited to join the occasion. As a singer there is also the option to have a musical interlude as part of the proceedings. This always goes down well, as the last thing the guests expect is for their MC to suddenly break into song.
